WARNING, WARNING, WARNING -Jeremiah 6:10

Jeremiah 6:10 – To whom can I speak and give warning?
Who will listen to me?
Their ears are closed
so they cannot hear.
The word of the Lord is offensive to them;
they find no pleasure in it.

“Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!” Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a robot that would sense the dangers in life and give us warnings. But maybe our ears are a little deaf to the warnings that overload our senses each day. Does anyone really take more care in handling their coffee just because there is a warning written on the cup. How many people really even read or heed the warnings that we already have on products we use every day.

In our spiritual lives we sometimes miss the warnings too. We look at God as the loving heavenly father and so we don’t like to think of the wrathful God who righteously judges the nations and our hearts. That is why God had to send prophets to tell the people to get themselves right before it was to late.

I am here to send up another warning for you. I hope you will heed this one. It caused me a lot of pain on my weight-loss journey.

Everything you pick up that is sugar-free or fat-free has artificial sweeteners in them. The majority of them have aspartame. Aspartame is also the chemical sweetener that is in the little blue packets at your favorite restaurant. It has revolutionized the weight-loss industry and is in everything from candy to whipped cream. It is even in some medicines that you may use.

When I started my weight-loss journey I used lots and lots of sugar-free and fat-free items. I often had these horrible headaches, memory loss (more than usual), and times when I would blank out. I thought it was just migraine headaches but it was different.

It turns out that some people are very sensitive to aspartame. For some people the memory loss was permanent. There have also been links to stroke and in extreme cases death.

My warning to you is simple. Be alert about what you put in your mouth. Watch the quantity of diet drinks or sugar-free stuff that you eat. When ever possible go with a natural sweetener… honey and agaves are good but don’t over do any of it.

Suzanne Sommers used to say, “If its made by nature, eat it. If it’s man-made spit it out.” I’m not that militant about it but I do want you to be careful.

Dear Lord, This road seems very rocky at times. Please help me from stubbing my toe. Let your word be a light unto my path. Amen

In the Middle Ages, they had guillotines, stretch racks, whips and cahins. Nowadays, we have a much more effective torture device called the bathroom scale. ~Stephen Phillips
